To all In our school community,
These are unprecedented and challenging times we all face, but most importantly may I wish you and your families well at this time.
Can I personally take this opportunity to thank you for all the support our school has received over the past few weeks. This has been a real test of our team at Elgin Academy and I have been so proud of the response. In a time of real adversity, it has been amazing to watch our team draw together and can I please thank our pupils, our staff and our parents for their amazing resilience and support.
As Head Teacher I have been blown away by the messages of support and encouragement I have received. So again, can I thank you all for taking time to send in messages, they really have kept me going.
In light of the recent crisis, it is easy to forget that today marks the last day of term and start of our Easter holidays. This term has been another fantastic one at Elgin Academy full of some many amazing achievements by our pupils and our school. We have not had much time to reflect recently, but may I urge you to do this with your children and think of all they have achieved this term, it is simply incredible.
With that being said, now we start our holidays and may I please encourage you all to take time to rest and recover over the next two weeks. I fully appreciate that many holidays and travel plans will have had to be cancelled in light of COVID-19, but please still find the time to rest.
We still face uncertain and changing times ahead. We are not sure yet what our summer term will look like this year, but that is a worry for another day. We will keep you fully informed of developments regarding this, as they happen. But for now, it is the holidays and a time to stop. Please pass this message on to your children. Although work will still be available on Show my Homework, there is no expectation on pupils to complete this work over the next two weeks.
So can I again wish you all a very happy holidays and thank you all for the support over the last term, but especially over the last few weeks.
Please stay safe and continue to look after each other in the days and weeks ahead.
As a school and a community, we will get through this and be stronger for it.
