Talent Show

Elgin Academy Talent Show

The Academy Talent Show is on Wednesday 10th October 2012 in the school hall.  Doors open 6.30pm starts at 7pm.  Tickets: Adults £5 Students £3.  Open to students in S3/4/ and 6 and parents. (S1/S2 must be accompanied by an adult for this performance)

Dress rehearsal – informal performance on Monday 8th October open to S1/2 students and parents unable to attend the Grand Performance on the Wednesday.  Tickets £2 for adults/students.  Doors open 3.25 pm starts 3.35pm.  There will be a more relaxed atmosphere at this rehearsal.

Tickets available from Mr Morrison in Room G41 from Thursday 4th October at break, lunchtime and after school. The event was a sell out last year so get your tickets early!

The Hobbit – Second Breakfast

Mrs Toonen, Elgin Academy’s Librarian  organised a well attended Hobbits’ second breakfast during  break time on Friday 21st September to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the book and to publicise the first of two hobbit films which will be released in December this year.   Full report and more photos are available under the Library – Events page or click here Eilidh Yeats (S6 Publicity Group)

English Department trip to ‘The Cone Gatherers’

A group of 79 senior students accompanied by English Department staff went to Aberdeen to see a performance of ‘The Cone Gatherers’ play based on the novel by Robin Jenkins which many S5/6 students are studying as part of their  Higher English course.
