Noises Off Production Spectacular - December 11th and 12th

‘Noises Off’ Drama Production Over 100 pupils at Elgin Academy are gearing up for the school’s first major production in ten years. On December 11th and 12th they will be staging their own contemporary twist on Michael Frayn’s award winning classic farce ‘Noises Off’. The play follows a group of ‘past-it’ actors during the nightmare of the final rehearsals and trauma of the tour of their new production ‘Nothing On’. The pupils participating in the show have been rehearsing for this cross-curricular project since June this year. ‘Noises Off’ plays a key role in Elgin Academy’s Curriculum for Excellence project, encompassing all aspects of the key educational areas. In addition to pupils from S1-S6 there is also a large number of teachers and non-teaching staff involved in the project and it is a truly community event. Obviously a project of this size requires a significant financial investment and local construction company Mansell have become the show’s main sponsors and are designing and building the lavish two-storey set. The show’s production team however, are still looking for further sponsorship from local companies who are interested in becoming a part of this exciting project. The team are also looking for donations of raffle prizes to be raffled on the performance nights. ‘Noises Off’ is to be performed on Thursday served basis so get yours soon to avoid disappointment!
